Test and debug interface for AK series V2.1 and V2.2 driver boards. Not compatible with V3.0 and later drivers.
The R-Link is the interface module that connects to the driver board of CubeMars actuators to configure and monitor the motor from a computer. Parameter setup, debugging and status monitoring during operation are done through this module.
It works with AK series actuators that have V2.1 and V2.2 driver boards. The compatible models on our site are listed below.
It is not compatible with V3.0 and later driver boards. Actuators with V3.0 in the name and the AKH series need the R-Link V3.0.
The R-Link connects to the computer over USB and to the actuator with the serial communication cable. For the computer to recognize the module, install the CH340 USB driver published by CubeMars.
Once connected, motor parameters are read and written in the PC software and the motor status is monitored during operation. On first setup, CAN ID assignment and control parameter tuning are done at this step.
Is the R-Link required to drive the actuator?
Not for daily operation, the actuator is driven over CAN by its own control board. The R-Link is needed for first setup, parameter tuning and debugging.
Do I need an R-Link for each actuator?
No. The same module can be connected to each actuator in turn to make the settings.
How do I know which driver board version my actuator has?
Models with V3.0 in the name and the AKH series have the V3.0 driver board, and they need the R-Link V3.0. If you are not sure, you can ask our technical team.

In the AK and AKH series actuators the driver board is built into the motor and communicates over CAN. The AKE series and the frameless RI and RO series motors need an external FOC driver. The R-Link and S-Link interfaces are for setup and debugging, and we can support you during installation.
