Product description

The S-Link is the configuration and monitoring interface for CubeMars GLII series motors. It is used to set encoder parameters and log motor status in real time.

Compatible products

It works only with GL II series gimbal motors. The compatible models on our site are listed below.

It does not work with AK, AKH and AKE series actuators. The AK series needs the R-Link or the R-Link V3.0.

How to use it

The S-Link connects to the computer over USB and communicates with the motor over UART and CAN. It runs on 5 V, measures 39.2 × 29.2 × 10 mm and weighs 16 g.

It is used together with the GL II PC software. Live motor data is monitored and logged, and encoder calibration and other parameter settings are done from this software.

Frequently asked questions

Is the S-Link required to drive the gimbal motor?

Not for daily operation, the motor is driven over CAN or PWM by its own control board. The S-Link is needed for first setup, encoder calibration and debugging.

Where do I download the software?

The GL II PC software and the user and quick start manuals are published free on the manufacturer's site.

Do I need an S-Link for each motor?

No. The same module can be connected to each motor in turn to make the settings.

Which driver and communication can I use with the motor?

In the AK and AKH series actuators the driver board is built into the motor and communicates over CAN. The AKE series and the frameless RI and RO series motors need an external FOC driver. The R-Link and S-Link interfaces are for setup and debugging, and we can support you during installation.
