AK80-6 KV100 robotic actuator, 6 Nm rated and 12 Nm peak torque. 6:1 reduction, 800 rpm no-load speed.
The AK80-6 is an integrated robotic actuator with a 6:1 planetary gearbox. Thanks to its low reduction it is the fastest model in the series with the least backlash.
Typical applications include robot joint systems, humanoid robots, collaborative robots, legged robot platforms, AGV and AMR systems, medical devices and university R&D projects.
The AK80-6 delivers 6 Nm continuous and 12 Nm peak torque. For example, a 2 kg load at the end of a 25 cm arm needs about 4.9 Nm of static torque (2 × 9.81 × 0.25). That load stays within the actuator's rated torque.
Its main difference is speed. Thanks to the 6:1 reduction, its 800 rpm no-load speed makes it one of the fastest models in the AK series. That is why it is chosen for leg joints that need fast swings, wheeled robots and AGV drives.
How many encoders does it have?
A single 14-bit magnetic encoder on the motor side. For applications that need a separate encoder at the output shaft, the AK70-9 V3.0 or AK10-9 V3.0 is a better fit.
How much gearbox backlash is there?
According to the manufacturer, 0.22 degrees.
Can it be turned by hand?
Yes. Backdrive torque is about 0.36 Nm, so the joint can be moved by hand when unpowered.
Is the driver included?
Yes. The driver board, encoder and planetary gearbox are inside the housing. The box includes power, CAN and serial communication cables.

In the AK and AKH series actuators the driver board is built into the motor and communicates over CAN. The AKE series and the frameless RI and RO series motors need an external FOC driver. The R-Link and S-Link interfaces are for setup and debugging, and we can support you during installation.
