AK80-9 KV100 robotic actuator, 9 Nm rated and 22 Nm peak torque. 570 rpm no-load speed.
The AK80-9 is an integrated robotic actuator with a 9:1 planetary gearbox. It stands out for smooth running under high torque and quick commissioning.
Typical applications include robot joint systems, humanoid robots, collaborative robots, legged robot platforms, AGV and AMR systems, medical devices and university R&D projects.
The AK80-9 is an actuator with a 9:1 planetary gearbox delivering 9 Nm of continuous torque. For example, a 3 kg load at the end of a 25 cm arm needs about 7.4 Nm of static torque (3 × 9.81 × 0.25). That load stays within the actuator's rated torque.
This product is the earlier version of the series and uses the V2 driver board. If you have a system with AK80-9 units, it is directly compatible as a spare or additional joint and works with the same driver board and the same R-Link module. If you are starting a new design, we recommend also looking at the AK80-9 V3.0.
Which R-Link is it configured with?
Because it has a V2 driver board, it is configured with the R-Link. The R-Link V3.0 is not compatible with this version.
How much gearbox backlash is there?
0.19 degrees.
Can it be turned by hand?
Yes. Backdrive torque is about 0.51 Nm, so the joint can be moved by hand when unpowered.
Is the driver included?
Yes. The driver board, encoder and planetary gearbox are inside the housing. The box includes a power and CAN cable and a serial communication cable.

We sell to universities, industry and R&D projects. For volume pricing and a formal quote, fill in the Request a quote form on this page and our team will reply with price and delivery details.
In the AK and AKH series actuators the driver board is built into the motor and communicates over CAN. The AKE series and the frameless RI and RO series motors need an external FOC driver. The R-Link and S-Link interfaces are for setup and debugging, and we can support you during installation.
