CubeMars RI115-PH KV40

The RI115-PH is the largest potted model in the series. Its wide hollow shaft leaves plenty of room for cables and shafts.

Is it enough for your project?

The RI115-PH is a frameless torque motor. The bearing, encoder and driver are part of your design. As the largest model in the series it delivers 5.5 Nm continuous and 16 Nm peak torque. It suits rotary tables, robot arm bases and teams building their own actuator.

The 74 mm hollow shaft is wide enough to pass cables, an air line or a second shaft through the center of the motor. If you need more torque, the motor is paired with a gearbox. For example, with a 50:1 harmonic drive you get about 275 Nm of continuous torque at the output, excluding losses.

How it compares to similar models

• RI100 KV105. Smaller and lighter with 1.76 Nm rated torque and 500 g, with a higher no-load speed of 4,368 rpm.
• RO100 KV55. An outrunner alternative with 4 Nm rated torque, weighing 710 g.

Frequently asked questions

Is the driver included?

No. With frameless motors the driver, encoder and bearing are chosen by the user. You need a 48 V FOC driver with Hall input. Our technical team can help you choose a suitable driver.

Integration

Frameless motors are designed in by the user together with the flange, bearing, encoder and driver. The stator mounts to the fixed structure and the rotor to the rotating shaft. Because this leaves the whole mechanical interface to the designer, intermediate transmission parts such as gears or belts are not needed.
