GL80 KV30 gimbal motor, 1 Nm rated and 2.9 Nm peak torque. 650 rpm no-load speed, 315 g.
The GL80 KV30 is a high-precision brushless gimbal motor from the CubeMars GL series, designed for gimbals, rotating scanning modules and autonomous driving perception systems. It is 87 mm in diameter but only 22.3 mm high. It delivers 2.9 Nm peak torque from 315 g, and its 30 mm center hole leaves room for thick cable bundles and slip rings.
Typical applications include heavy camera gimbals, radar units, autonomous driving LiDAR scanners and rotating platforms that need precise positioning.
The GL80 KV30 delivers 1 Nm rated and 2.9 Nm peak torque. In a gimbal, the required torque depends on how far the load's center of gravity sits from the rotation axis. For example, a 3 kg camera or LiDAR with its center of gravity 3 cm off the axis needs about 0.88 Nm of static torque (3 × 9.81 × 0.03). That load stays within the motor's rated torque.
It runs on 24 V, with a no-load speed of 650 rpm and a rated speed of 450 rpm. Rated current is 2.8 A and peak current is 8.2 A. For a lighter load the GL60 KV25 may be a better fit, and for a heavier load, the GL100 KV10.
Are the driver and encoder included?
No. The GL80 is the motor only. The manufacturer states that it enables high-precision control when paired with an encoder. The driver and encoder are chosen separately.
How big is the center hole?
The hollow shaft is 30 mm in diameter, leaving enough room for thick cable bundles or a slip ring.
What voltage does it run on?
Rated voltage is 24 V. The speed, current and torque figures in the table are given for this voltage.
Box size 160 x 122 x 42 mm.

The Specifications section on this page lists rated torque, peak torque, KV, no-load speed, weight and outer dimensions. If you need the detailed datasheet, CAD file or driver documentation, ask our technical team.
We sell to universities, industry and R&D projects. For volume pricing and a formal quote, fill in the Request a quote form on this page and our team will reply with price and delivery details.
In the AK and AKH series actuators the driver board is built into the motor and communicates over CAN. The AKE series and the frameless RI and RO series motors need an external FOC driver. The R-Link and S-Link interfaces are for setup and debugging, and we can support you during installation.
