RI70-KV95 frameless inrunner torque motor, 0.94 Nm rated and 2.68 Nm peak torque. 3,912 rpm no-load speed, 270.4 g.
The RI70 is a frameless inrunner torque motor. Its space-saving design lets it fit into low-volume builds.
Typical applications include robot arm joints, precision rotary platforms, gimbal systems, medical device drives and modular actuator designs that need high torque in a small space.
The RI70 is a frameless torque motor. The bearing, encoder and driver are part of your design. It delivers 0.94 Nm continuous and 2.68 Nm peak torque. Its main difference is the wide 38 mm center bore, which can take cables, a shaft or the input shaft of a harmonic drive.
In robot joints the motor is usually paired with a gearbox. For example, with a 50:1 harmonic drive you get about 47 Nm of continuous torque at the output, excluding losses. That is enough for the elbow and wrist of a mid-size collaborative robot arm.
Is the driver included?
No. With frameless motors the driver, encoder and bearing are chosen by the user. You need a FOC driver that can deliver at least 7.1 A continuous.
What voltages does it run on?
It can run on 24, 36 and 48 V. At those voltages the no-load speed is about 1,956, 2,934 and 3,912 rpm respectively.
Does it have a Hall sensor?
The Hall sensor is optional. If you will use a driver with Hall input, choose the version with the sensor.
What is its torque constant?
Kt is about 0.13 Nm/A. Around 7.1 A of phase current is needed for the 0.94 Nm rated torque.
Box size 100 x 100 x 50 mm.
Frameless motors are designed in by the user together with the flange, bearing, encoder and driver. The stator mounts to the fixed structure and the rotor to the rotating shaft. Because this leaves the whole mechanical interface to the designer, intermediate transmission parts such as gears or belts are not needed.

In the AK and AKH series actuators the driver board is built into the motor and communicates over CAN. The AKE series and the frameless RI and RO series motors need an external FOC driver. The R-Link and S-Link interfaces are for setup and debugging, and we can support you during installation.
