GL40 KV70 gimbal motor, 0.25 Nm rated and 0.5 Nm peak torque. 1015 rpm no-load speed, 107 g.
The GL40 KV70 is a brushless gimbal motor from the CubeMars GL series, designed for gimbals, aerial photography stabilizers, radar rotating heads and autonomous driving scanning modules. It delivers 0.25 Nm rated and 0.5 Nm peak torque and weighs 107 g. Its light build, precision and low noise make it a good fit for applications that need stable, smooth output over long periods.
Typical applications include mid-size camera gimbals, aerial photography stabilizers, radar scanning systems and autonomous driving perception modules where smooth, stable motion is critical.
The GL40 KV70 delivers 0.25 Nm rated and 0.5 Nm peak torque. In a gimbal, the required torque depends on how far the load's center of gravity sits from the rotation axis. For example, a 1 kg camera or sensor with its center of gravity 2 cm off the axis needs about 0.2 Nm of static torque (1 × 9.81 × 0.02). That load stays within the motor's rated torque.
It runs on 16 V, with a no-load speed of 1015 rpm and a rated speed of 430 rpm. Rated current is 1.62 A and peak current is 3.3 A. If you need more peak torque the GL40II KV82.5 may be a better fit, and for heavier loads, the GL60 KV25.
Is the driver included?
No. The GL40 is the motor only. It is used with a gimbal controller such as AlexMos or with a FOC driver.
Does it have an encoder?
This product is the motor without an encoder. The manufacturer also offers an encoder option for the GL40.
How big is the center hole?
The hollow shaft is 8 mm in diameter. It is used for a cable bundle or a slip ring.
Box size 109 x 82 x 42 mm.

In the AK and AKH series actuators the driver board is built into the motor and communicates over CAN. The AKE series and the frameless RI and RO series motors need an external FOC driver. The R-Link and S-Link interfaces are for setup and debugging, and we can support you during installation.
