DW15 underwater thruster, at least 15 kgf static thrust and 350 m operating depth. 48 V, 750 W, 1260 g.
The DW15 is a high-performance underwater thruster developed for ROVs and AUVs working in deep water. At a rated 48 V and 750 W of continuous power it produces at least 15 kgf of static thrust and is rated to 350 meters. The SW12 shares the same Ø130.6 mm housing diameter but is limited to 30 meters, while the DW15 suits deep water missions such as inspection, survey and sensor deployment.
Typical applications include underwater inspection and survey vehicles, sensor-carrying AUVs, medium and large ROVs, unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) and electric surfboards.
A single DW15 delivers at least 15 kgf of static thrust. For example, a vehicle with two DW15 units on the horizontal axis reaches at least 30 kgf of forward static thrust. Vehicle speed also depends on hull drag and tether load, so thrust needs should be worked out together with the vehicle's drag.
The housing measures Ø130.6 x 174.5 mm and weighs 1260 g, about 735 g in water. The motor rotor has 28 poles. Operating temperature is 0 °C to 40 °C. If you need more thrust, consider the DW20, and for a smaller housing, the DW10.
Which ESC does it work with?
The DW15 runs with an external driver. The pairing CubeMars recommends is the TW-40A-12S underwater ESC, which is also compatible with the SW7, SW12 and DW10.
Can it be used in seawater?
Yes. The aluminum alloy housing resists corrosion and the sealing design keeps seawater and sediment out. The manufacturer recommends rinsing with clean water after each use.
Why choose the DW15 over the SW12?
If your vehicle will go deeper than 30 meters, the SW12 is not enough. The DW15 works down to 350 meters and gives 3 kgf more static thrust.
Are mounting parts included?
Yes. The box contains two mounting bases, a connecting rod and screws in three sizes. CubeMars also publishes a 3D drawing of a shared mounting bracket for the SW12, DW15 and SW17.
Box size Ø150 x 290 mm.
The ESC pairing CubeMars recommends for the DW15 is the TW-40A-12S underwater ESC set. Our team can support you with battery, control and vehicle integration.

In the AK and AKH series actuators the driver board is built into the motor and communicates over CAN. The AKE series and the frameless RI and RO series motors need an external FOC driver. The R-Link and S-Link interfaces are for setup and debugging, and we can support you during installation.
