DW10 underwater thruster, at least 10 kgf static thrust and 350 m operating depth. 36 V, 540 W, 840 g.
The DW10 is a compact underwater thruster designed for remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). At a rated 36 V and about 540 W of continuous power it produces at least 10 kgf of static thrust. The key difference between the DW and SW series is operating depth. SW thrusters work down to 30 meters, while the DW10 is rated to 350 meters.
Typical applications include medium-class ROV and AUV platforms, unmanned surface vehicles (USVs), electric surfboards and research vehicles carrying out deep water inspection or observation.
A single DW10 delivers at least 10 kgf of static thrust. For example, an ROV with two DW10 units on the horizontal axis has at least 20 kgf of forward static thrust. The speed the vehicle reaches also depends on hull drag and tether load, so thrust needs should be assessed together with the vehicle's drag.
The thruster weighs 840 g in air and about 480 g in water. The propeller is Ø80 mm and the motor rotor has 24 poles. Operating temperature is 0 °C to 40 °C and storage temperature is 0 °C to 50 °C. If you need more thrust, consider the DW15, and for shallow water only, the lighter SW7.
Is the driver (ESC) included?
No. The DW10 runs with an external driver. The ESC CubeMars recommends for this model is the TW-40A-12S underwater ESC.
Can it be used in seawater?
Yes. The sealing design keeps seawater and sediment out of the motor chamber. The manufacturer recommends rinsing the thruster with clean water after each use.
Does it need regular maintenance?
According to the manufacturer, the two-stage sealed chambers keep sediment out of the motor chamber, so no maintenance is needed. Rinsing with clean water after use is enough.
What do I need for mounting?
The box contains one mounting base and six M4 x 12 mm screws. CubeMars also publishes a 3D drawing of a shared mounting bracket for the SW7 and DW10.
The ESC pairing CubeMars recommends for the DW10 is the TW-40A-12S underwater ESC set. Our team can support you with battery, control and vehicle integration.

In the AK and AKH series actuators the driver board is built into the motor and communicates over CAN. The AKE series and the frameless RI and RO series motors need an external FOC driver. The R-Link and S-Link interfaces are for setup and debugging, and we can support you during installation.
