GL40II KV82.5 gimbal motor, 0.25 Nm rated and 0.68 Nm peak torque. 1,388 rpm no-load speed, 125 g.
The GL40II is a hollow-shaft gimbal motor with an integrated driver board. It is designed for applications that need smooth rotation at low speeds.
Typical applications include gimbal systems, camera tripods, precision rotary axes and compact robot mechanisms with internal wiring.
The GL40II is a small gimbal motor with the driver built into its housing, delivering 0.25 Nm continuous and 0.68 Nm peak torque. In a well-balanced gimbal the motor does not carry the whole load, only the imbalance and the inertia during acceleration. For example, if a 300 g camera sits 5 cm off its center of gravity, it needs about 0.15 Nm of static torque (0.3 × 9.81 × 0.05). That stays within the motor's rated torque.
At 125 g and 46 mm in diameter it suits light cameras, small pan-tilt mechanisms and sensor and radar heads. The reduced cogging gives vibration-free footage in slow tracking moves.
Is the driver included?
Yes. The driver board is inside the motor and supports CAN and PWM communication.
Which control modes does it have?
It works in MIT mode, position mode with speed, and speed-only mode.
What voltage does it run on?
The rated operating voltage is 16 V. At that voltage its no-load speed is 1,388 rpm.
Where do the cables go?
The shaft and driver board are hollow, and cables can pass through the center of the motor.

In the AK and AKH series actuators the driver board is built into the motor and communicates over CAN. The AKE series and the frameless RI and RO series motors need an external FOC driver. The R-Link and S-Link interfaces are for setup and debugging, and we can support you during installation.
