RO40 KV140 Lite frameless torque motor, 0.2 Nm rated and 0.6 Nm peak torque. 3400 rpm no-load speed, 60 g.
The RO40 KV140 Lite is the smallest outrunner frameless torque motor in the RO series. In the Lite version the outer housing and Hall sensors are removed and only the motor core remains. It is 46.3 mm in diameter, 13 mm high and weighs 60 g. It is designed to be built directly into precision joints, gimbals and custom gearboxes.
Typical applications include small robot joints, gimbal mechanisms, compact actuators with custom gearboxes and non-standard automation equipment.
The RO40 KV140 Lite delivers 0.2 Nm rated and 0.6 Nm peak torque. For example, a 0.5 kg load with a 3 cm offset needs about 0.15 Nm of static torque (0.5 × 9.81 × 0.03). That load stays within the motor's rated torque. For longer arms the motor is used with a gearbox, and output torque rises with the reduction ratio.
It runs on 24 V, with a no-load speed of 3400 rpm and a rated speed of 2450 rpm. Rated current is 2.85 A, peak current is 11.6 A and maximum continuous power is 51 W. If you need more torque, the RO50 KV108 Lite or the RO60Lite-KV115 may be a better fit.
Are the driver and encoder included?
No. A frameless motor consists only of a stator and a rotor. The driver, encoder and gearbox are chosen by the user for the project.
Does it have Hall sensors?
No. The Lite version has no Hall sensor and no temperature sensor. An encoder should be used for commutation and position, and the driver should support FOC control.
What is the difference between Lite and a standard RO motor?
The Lite version drops the outer housing and sensors. Electrical figures stay the same while weight and height go down, and the motor fits directly into your own mechanical structure.

In the AK and AKH series actuators the driver board is built into the motor and communicates over CAN. The AKE series and the frameless RI and RO series motors need an external FOC driver. The R-Link and S-Link interfaces are for setup and debugging, and we can support you during installation.
