G40 KV210 gimbal motor, 0.25 Nm rated and 0.75 Nm peak torque. 3120 rpm no-load speed, 107 g.
The G40 KV210 is the fast winding of the CubeMars G40 gimbal motor. Its housing and 107 g weight are the same as the KV70 version, the difference is in the winding. On 16 V its no-load speed is 3120 rpm and its rated speed 2100 rpm. Alongside 0.25 Nm rated torque it delivers 0.75 Nm peak torque. It has no driver board and is used with an external FOC driver.
Typical applications include rotating radar heads, autonomous driving scanning modules, continuously rotating sensor platforms and light gimbal axes that must change direction quickly.
The G40 KV210 delivers 0.25 Nm continuous and 0.75 Nm peak torque. On gimbals and rotating heads the torque demand is mostly set by how far the center of gravity of the load sits from the axis. For example, a 0.6 kg sensor head with its center of gravity 3 cm off the axis needs about 0.18 Nm of static torque (0.6 × 9.81 × 0.03). That stays within the rated torque.
Rated current is 4.9 A and peak current 14.9 A. With a torque constant of 0.050 Nm/A it needs more current than the KV70 winding for the same torque, so size your power supply and driver for that current. If the axis turns slowly, the G40 KV70 may be the more efficient choice.
What is the difference between KV210 and KV70?
The housing and rated torque are the same. The KV210 turns much faster (3120 rpm no-load against 1015 rpm for the KV70) and gives a higher peak torque, in return it draws more current.
Is a driver included?
No. The product page lists the driver board option as "no". The motor is used with an external FOC driver that must handle the 14.9 A peak current.
Can it rotate continuously through 360 degrees?
The motor is brushless and the large center hole is suited to a slip ring. With signal and power routed through a slip ring the axis can rotate continuously.
What are its dimensions?
The manufacturer does not give dimensions on the G40 page. Check the 2D drawing PDF and the CAD model for mounting dimensions.
The manufacturer does not publish a detailed packing list or box size on the G40 page. Ask our team about cables and mounting parts before ordering.

In the AK and AKH series actuators the driver board is built into the motor and communicates over CAN. The AKE series and the frameless RI and RO series motors need an external FOC driver. The R-Link and S-Link interfaces are for setup and debugging, and we can support you during installation.
